**Overview:**
We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent and Administrative Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for helping answer phones, placing purchase orders with vendors, arranging deliveries, managing inventory levels, negotiating with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing, and other miscellaneous office tasks.
**Duties:**
- Aid in sourcing goods and services from various vendors
- Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms
- Collaborate with logistics team to ensure timely delivery of products
- Utilize Sage 50 accounting software
- Address any issues or discrepancies that arise
- Stay informed about market trends, new products, and alternative suppliers
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand purchasing needs and requirements
**Requirements:**
- Previous purchasing experience a plus but not required, willing to train the right candidate.
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be willing to learn and perform miscellaneous office tasks outside scope of purchasing
- Ability to work effectively and prioritize tasks efficiently
